Scrap Matrix Guest Designer Reveal

Hello Scrappy friends, I am so excited to announce that I am the November/December Guest Designer at Scrap Matrix - much excitement to be amongst such talented ladies

I must say a huge thank you to Vicki and the girls for making me feel so welcome. 

I have a step by step process for you of the layout I created with the fabulous 7 Dots Dreamscapes kit I received for the November challenge.  I have added some items – all available from the Scrap Matrix store so be sure to check out the supply list at the end of this novel, lol.

I began choosing  the papers and diecuts, etc, that I wished to use and taking a dauber top I placed it on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst in Cocoa Bean Copper, and inked all the edges of the tags, diecuts and background paper.  I also used this product to colour some of the string, which I had divided into strands to make it go further.  I also added some of the Lindy’s to the 2 flowers from the kit.   I had chosen a Steam Punk chipboard border and coloured this as well as a length of white mesh tape to finish off the embellishments for the layout.

Once I had all the bits coloured to my satisfaction, I took a Tim Holtz stencil -  “Measured” and using Colour Blast Colour Paste, stenciled across the middle of the background as well as the top left and bottom right corners.

Whilst I was waiting for this to dry, I placed the mesh tape in position over the stenciling, and then double matted my black and white photo’s.

To give more texture to my layout, I tore the photo mats using my steel ruler, instead of cutting them.  I like to look of straight cut edges mixed with torn edges.

I didn’t ink these edges.

Once the Colour Paste was dry (it really doesn’t take that long) I started assembling my layout, moving pieces around until I was happy with the result.  I then started sticking everything down with my trust Xpress it Double sided tape and Helmars Acid Free glue.

Before placing the photos onto page, I added foam to the mats to lift them off the rather busy background.

Now came time for the title and finishing touches.  I had some Chipboard Alphabets #1, and I used the Lindy’s to colour these, before adding Stampendous Embossing Ink and Embossing Enamel.  Because the enamel is so thick you couldn’t see the colour under, so I splashed some Lindys over the top.

I added the title to my layout and finished with some 13 @rts Gold Glitter Ayeeda Ink, and some splatters of the Cocoa Bean Copper Starburst from Lindy’s, and finally some Vicki Boutin word and phrase stickers.

Scrap Plezier Moodboard Reveal

I am so very late with this moodboard reveal for Scrap Plezier - I dont know where the time, or my mojo, flew to!

However, it is done now - isnt the moodboard just divine?

So much inspiration to get from it!!

Nothing too special about this one!!  I used a variety of Kaisercraft collections, with a very simple design.

Scrap Plezier Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends,

I am up on the Scrap Plezier blog with my first Kaisercraft reveal for November, and this month our theme is Christmas.

A very simple layout I know, but that is me - simple!!
The tree is not mine, it is a picture I found on the internet.

My first Kaisercraft layout for November features 2 older Christmas Collections – Merry Medley and Frosted.  I used a 12x12 piece of the Merry Medley collection for my base.  I then took some scraps from the Frosted 6.5x6.5 paper pad and made some layers.  I matted my photo onto a piece from the same pad.  I took a piece of sheer ribbon and tied a bow around the bottom of the photo (most appropriate as it is a Christmas tree with gifts under it).   I then added diecuts from the Frosted collection.  To finish the layout I added ink splashes using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Tinsel, Dylusions in White Linen, and Kaisercraft Mist in Denim.  For a bit of sparkle I added some Kaisercraft Crystal Rhinestones.

I know, another card, right!!  Whatever has become of me??

This was a very simple to make Christmas card using ribbon and some crystal rhinestones, with some silver glitter thickers.

Easy, peasy, japanesey, lol.

Scrap Plezier Reveal

I am a few days behind - its been a huge week for me - my eldest turned 21 *sad face*.

Anyhoo, I was up on the Scrap Plezier blog on Saturday with my final reveal featuring Kaisercraft for October:



Do you love my Murphy as much as I do?  He loves to help me scrap, or should I say, play with ribbon and eat flowers!!

I have used the Factory 42 collection for my layout.  I took 5 pieces of paper from the collection and cut them in random sizes.  I distressed all edges, including those of the base paper, and then I started placing the papers randomly until I had a design I was happy with.  I matted my black and white photo onto a 6th piece of paper from the collection.  The layout is finished with diecuts from the collection, a title using really old alpha stickers from my stash and white paint splatters.

Scrap Plezier Reveal

I am up on the Scrap Plezier blog today with a quick and easy Kaisercraft layout.

I have a layout for you today using the Kaisercraft Wildflowers collection.  To start the layout I took 2 Tim Holtz rubber mounted stamps and a grey stamp pad and randomly stamped the images in the centre of the background.  I cut strips from a number of the Wildflower collection papers and placed them, mixed with some 12” stickers in a vertical manner over the background stamping.  I also added some strips of Kaisercraft Glitter tape in green.  I placed my photo in the middle of the strips, and added diecuts and stickers from the Wildflowers collection.  To finish I splattered inks in matching colours, and placed some sequins and tiny flower stickers.

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

It is reveal day at Sunny Day Crafting and challenge #57 is P for Pink .

Now, you all know at least 2 things about me:
1.  I have only boys to scrap so very rarely use pink (which is sooooo disappointing when all the gorgeous new collections have copious amounts of pink in them)
2.  I am the worlds worst card maker.

So, you can imagine how I may have struggled with this challenge.  But challenge I did, and created a pink card :)



The strips are various branding strips and other bits from my stash.  The gold strips are Kaisercraft Washi Tape, and the greeting has been stamped onto some scalloped linen (7 Gypsies maybe) ribbon, sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang and embossed with gold embossing powder.
