The Studio Challenges

Hi There

I am super excited to be joining the design team at The Studio Challenges.  Anna has awesome 2-weekly challenges, and the first one for February is to scraplift a fellow design team member.

This challenge was really easy for me as I am a massive Lisa-Marie Watling fangirl!!

I chose this layout of Lisa-Marie's to scraplift.

I love all the layers Lisa-Marie incorporates onto her layouts, I adore the distressing and get all gooey eyed, lol, over the texture.  What can I say?  Yep, a massive fangirl :)

Here is my take:
No photo description available.

I tried to emulate the background with a stencil and ink, I coloured the cut file leaves with Distress Oxide and coloured the butter muslin with brown ink.

I love how this turned out and I hope Lisa-Marie isnt too disappointed.

Head over to The Studio Challenges blog and check oout the other new designers and their takes on this challenge - would love to see you there.

Thanks for stopping by

Off the Rails February Challenge

Hi There

The challenge for February at Off the Rails Scrapbooking Group on Facebook is Recycle!

There are so many ways to look and create with this challenge.

I have chosen to completer an Art Journal page using some clothing tags I have hoarded, for reasons unknown, lol
I started by brushing clear gesso over my journal page and when dry I randomly spread some Ranger Distress Collage Medium Crazing onto the page as well.  I then pressed some bubble wrap into the crazing medium and set aside to dry.
I then took a few clothing tags and applied white gesso quite thickly over them, and when dry applied a second layer. Also at this time I used  some Lindys Stamp Gang spray in Plumeria Pink to colour some medical gauze.
When the crazing medium was dry I channelled my inner Marta and dripped my watercolour palette onto the page. Whilst waiting for that to dry I took my tags and some Lindys Magicals and randomly sprinkled Oom pa pa pink,  Magnolia magenta gold and Time travel teal over the tags and then spritzed with water mopping up any puddles with paper towel.  To finish the tags I stamped an old script stamp with black ink.   On the square tag, I took a 13 @rts stencil and texture paste and when dry sprinkled the same colour Magicals over the tag.
The page went together really well and to finish off I added a piece of lace and some 13 @rts clear stickers.

Scrap Plezier February Reveal

Hi There

I was up on the Scrap Plezier blog with my first layout for February using an older Kaisercraft collection - Scrap Yard.
Today I have used an older Kaisercraft collection - Scrap Yard to create with.

I started with a sheet of Loft for the base and used offcuts of Garage, Rusty, and Rafters to create the layers. My photo was matted with Garage and some Kaisercraft corrugated card.

I added branding strips from Garage, Rafters, and Copper for more layers. I finished the layout with some stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet, a title using Remarks alpha stickers, a metal clock embellishment and a Little B basketball sticker.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my layout
