The Studio Challenges Reveal

Hello Friends

This fortnights challenge at The Studio Challenges is to incorporate at least 2 different alphas in your project title and to journal about the photo.

Those who know me, know I am loathe to journal so this was a real challenge for me, I did enjoy it though, nevertheless.

I have used papers by Michelle Grant Designs for Colour Blast Australia from the Follow Your Dreams Collection

I am really looking forward to checking out what you come you create for our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.

See you soon

Sketches in Thyme Sketch #378

Hello Friends

It is the 4th week sketch reveal at Sketches in Thyme, and as usual it is a fabulous sketch:

No photo description available.

And my take on the sketch:

I used the Kaisercraft Paisley Days collection, on a piece of Studio Light Tre chic patterned paper which I left the branding strip on to match the top stripe in the sketch :)

Scrap Our Stash Mid Month Challenge Reveal

Hello there friends

It is reveal day for the midmonth challenge at Scrap Our Stash, and the girls have come up with a fabulous Left or Right sketch challenge with the addition of wood veneer.

No photo description available.

To enter, just choose the left or right hand side of the sketch and add some wood or wood veneer.

You have until the 29th to link your creations over on the blog

Here is my example - I chose the left side.

I am really disappointed with the colour of the pictures, as the background cardstock is grey, the left middle layer is pink, and the right layer is a grey square print.  the border hearts are grey, white, pink,, and pale blue.

The title alphas are pink wood veneer, and the butterflies and arrow is also wood veneer.

Wood love to see what you create with this challenge.

Till next time

The Studio Challenge Blog Reveal

Hello there friends

Today is reveal day for the second challenge in July for The Studio Challenges.  This fortnights challenge is Stars & Stripes.  Gee, this is a great one as there are so many connotations, not just July 4 for my American friends.

Here is my layout:

I used the Kaisercraft Stargazer Collection to create this layout of youngest son receiving the Coaches Award at his basketball presentation evening.  Its a shame the photos arent the best, as the gold accents, and title really make this layout.

Thanks for stopping by, I am really looking forward to seeing what you create for this challenge

Till next time,

Scrap Our Stash Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

I am sharing with you today for my creation as a Design Team member at Scrap Our Stash.  We will have challenges for you on the first and the 15th of each month.  Why not head on over to the blog and check it out?

No photo description available.

So, this is my first challenge.  It is a cartoon sketch challenge where you use the sketch and take inspiration from the cartoon, there is always something you must add to your layout - this fortnight it is an Arrow.

I turned the sketch as I had landscape photos, but still love how it turned out.  The inspiration I took from the cartoon were the colours, red and blue, and the stars.  I had to delve deep into my stash to find a piece of red patterned paper, but I found the perfect piece.  It was a piece of Carta Bella, Rough & Tumble Collection, Silly Stripes and I used the B side - bonus as it had stars on it!

I embossed the chipboard title, bracket, star and arrow with Ranger Navy Embossing Powder.  The splatters were created with Dylusions Postbox Red, and Periwinkle Blue Ink Sprays.

I hope you find time this month to play along with our challenge.

Looking forward to seeing what you create.

See you soon,
Deb xx

Lets Get Sketchy

Hello Scrappy Friends

Can you believe it is July already?    Wow, I think the older one gets the quicker time flies by :(

The challenge at Lets Get Sketchy this month incorporates a fabulous Brenshevia sketch along with a moodboard.  Something a little different this month:

And now for my take:

I turned the sketch and only used 1 photo, but I really love how this turned out!

Looking forward to seeing how you interpret the sketch and moodboard.

See you real soon

Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Hello Scrappy Friends

The July challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking Facebook Group is Recycle
No photo description available.

We all have a ton of things sitting around that we have saved for a rainy day, well this month is that rainy day, lol.

I had started a Travelers Notebook album in a no brand journal purchased from the local Art Supplies store.  It has a kraft coloured cover and cream/ivory pages.

I had yet to do anything about the cover, but when I came across the packaging from some Prima stickers, I knew it was time!!  The packaging was the perfect size, so I grabbed some bits and bobs from my scrap drawer including some patterned paper, a small piece of tissue paper, an offcut of lace trim, a small piece of butter muslin, a clothing tag and a branding strip from Kaisercraft Wandering Ivy collection.  To finish I added some stickers, and some wood veneer butterflies.

I started by distressing all the edges of the packaging and the patterned paper I was going to use.

Next, I covered the tag with a piece of patterned paper, added some lace trim, further patterned paper strip,  a scallop border sticker, a diecut heart, some small heart stickers and a wood veneer butterfly - tag finished!!

Next I played with the layering of the papers, and muslin until I was happy with the arrangement

I then placed it all on the packaging.

To finish I stapled the tag to the packaging, and added stickers, the branding strip and a wood veneer butterfly.

A great way to a) create a cover for my Travellers Notebook, and b) Recycle some packaging, as well as use up some scraps.

Do you have an idea that you will be sharing with us in our Facebook Group?  I truly hope so!!

Thanks for stopping by,

See you real soon
