Hello Scrappy Friends
I m excited to announce that I have been asked to be a Guest Designer at Creative Inspiration for the month of September. Bev and the girls on the forum are da bomb!!
Creative Inspiration is an "old fashioned" forum where you will find inspiration in the form of daily challenges, as well as monthly mini crops.
If you are not a member, I urge you to head on over and join in the fun - you really dont know what you are missing.
My first reveal is the Monday sketch, so I will be back then to show you what I came up with.
Cheers
I love to scrapbook, or should I say, love to collect stash, which I one day plan to use :)

Scrap Plezier Reveal
Hello SCrappy Friends
Wow, late again with my reveals this month. I must slap myself and get my act into gear - big time.
August 20 was reveal day at Scrap Plezier with a Kaisercraft layout.

Dont you just love my cute as a button Murphy?
Wow, late again with my reveals this month. I must slap myself and get my act into gear - big time.
August 20 was reveal day at Scrap Plezier with a Kaisercraft layout.

Dont you just love my cute as a button Murphy?
I wanted to get away from using the normal squares, rectangles and
circles, so decided to use triangles for this layout – and I love how it turned
out. Using Kaisercraft Indigo Skies, I cut 2 triangles from 2 pieces of
patterned paper. I then drew a border around the edge using my black Sharpie
paint pen. I took a piece of Kaisercraft paper from the Base Coat IV collection
and using some Ranger Distress Ink and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine, I smooched and
splattered the watered down media onto the background. I did not gesso the
paper prior to doing this, and fortunately it didn’t warp at all. I distressed
the edges of the background paper and both triangles using my Edge Distressing
tool and then inked the distressed edges with the Distress Ink (Blueprint
Sketch). When the background was dry, I placed the triangles, and offset them
to each other. I added my photo and took some stickers and diecuts from the
Indigo Skies collection to finish off the layout.
The title alphas were a pack of really old Cosmo Cricket Chalkboard
which I painted with the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine (Tinsel), and I love, love,
love how they turned out.
So that is my challenge to all my scrappy friends, take some old stash
and reinvigorate it to make something new!!

Scrap Plezier Reveal
Hello Scrappy Friends,
It was my reveal day on the Scrap Plezier blog on Sunday, but I have been sick so havent had a chance to share with you all until now :(
It was my reveal day on the Scrap Plezier blog on Sunday, but I have been sick so havent had a chance to share with you all until now :(
During a tidy up I came across this photo of my husband and eldest son. My
son was 15 weeks old in the photo, and turns 21 in October, so you can see I do
not scrapbook chronologically!! I took some Kaisercraft Mist in Olive and Lime
Green and mixed some together to create a colour I liked, and was more matched
to the papers, with a Kaisercraft stencil on the white cardstock background.
When dry, I splattered some of the mixture. I then took some papers from the
6.5x6.5 Bow and Arrow collection paper pad and layered over the stencilled
background. I mounted the photo onto another piece from the collection. I
finished off this rather simple layout with some wood veneer, pearls, and
diecuts all from Kaisercraft. I drew a border around the outside edge of the
cardstock to ground all the elements.
I hope my layout inspires you all to pull our some old photos and scrap
them

So what do you think about that?

Oh dear, I have been super busy at work so my poor blog has been neglected for the past month :(
Well, I had better make up for that!

Scrap Plezier - July 4 Reveal
Premiers 2011 was created using Kaisercraft Rewind papers from a couple of
years ago. Again, I have used papers from the 6.5x6.5 paper pad (I have a huge
collection of these and love them). For interest, I tore the papers using my
metal ruler. This gives a nice straight edge to the tear. From there I did my
usual layering, in no particular order, just making sure the photo remained the
main focus.
I finished the layout off with diecuts from the Rewind Collection as well
as some buttons from my stash and some splatters of Tattered Angels Glimmermist
– Sapphire. The journalling was done on a dicut journalling spot from the Rewind
Collection. The title alphas are from Jillibean Soup.

Scrap Plezier - July 10 Moodboard
And a fabulous moodboard it is:

I have used some mixed manufacturers in this layout of my boys and I taken at my birthday tea in May. Bits and pieces from Simple Stories, Doodlebug Designs, American Crafts, and Pink Paislee

My Time to Craft July 15 challenge - In the Garden
This challenge is to be my last for the time being at My Time to Craft - with work being absolutely mental, I have had to let something go, and unfortunately, it is this design team. But...the wonderful boss lady Shell, has said I am welcome back when things settle down, she may regret that offer as I may just do that!!

Lots of Kaisercraft project life cards used as the layers on this layout. Even dragged out an old punch to add some texture to the edge of the paper.

Scrap Plezier - July 16 Reveal
This layout was created using a sketch from Sketches in Thyme, and the
gorgeous Kaisercraft Wildflower collection, papers and diecuts. All edges of
the background cardstock, patterned papers, and diecuts have been inked with
Versacolour Pinecone. The photo was mounted on dark green cardstock and pop
dotted to give some texture to the layout. The green sparkle washi tape is also
Kaisercraft, and the pale pink washi came from the TYPO store. The word stickers in
the top left corner are Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers, the gold title alphas are
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes, the small white and black letters are Kaisercraft.
The other alpha stickers used are from Simple Stories. The splatters were
created with Lindys Stamp Gang Flat Fabio in Plumeria Pink, and the turquoise
colour is Dylusions Ink Spray in Vibrant Turquoise.

Scrap Plezier - July 20 Reveal
For the July 20 reveal at Scrap Plezier I went with Kaisercraft.
For this layout I wanted to use Kraft cardstock but felt the background
needed a lift, so I trimmed the kraft cardstock and then layered it onto an old
piece of paper from my stash. I took a Kaisercraft Cherish clear stamp and
using Hero Arts Black Dye ink, stamped along both vertical sides of my photo
mats. I then took a stamp from Creative Impressions and added that as well.
Next I took my Prima Watercolours and splattered various colours over the
background. These colours were chosen to match the papers I was going to use.
Whilst this was drying, I layered 3 pieces of patterned paper from the
Wildflower Collection from Kaisercraft (6.5x6.5 paper pad), slightly crookedly,
and then matted my photo twice, and placed on the paper background. I took some
Kaisercraft wood veneer and coloured it with the Prima Watercolouors – I love
how both pieces turned out. The title alphas are DIY Thickers from Studio
Calico and are fabric, therefore customisable. Again, I used the Prima
Watercolours and coloured the title alphas in matching colours. Finally I used
some stickers and diecuts from the Wildflowers Collection to finish off my
layout.

Sketches in Thyme #282
Hello Scrappy Friends
It is Sketch #282 reveal day at Sketches in Thyme
This is the amazing sketch we are using this week:

Designed by the very talented Brenshevia
And here is my example, again using Kaisercraft, this time Indigo Skies collection - papers and diecut collectibles.
Murphy was an early birthday present for me and joined our family via the RSPCA on April24. He is the most loving cat, with not a nasty bone in his body!! He likes nothing more than sitting with me at my scrap desk, more often than not on the laptop. He is a pleasure to be around.
Thanks for stopping by, this is the last of my DT commitments for June, but have a couple of challenge layouts to share when I have photographed them.
Scrap Plezier Reveal
Hello Scrappy Friends
I was revealled on the Scrap Pelzier blog last Sunday with a Kaisercraft layout.
Thanks for dropping by today
I was revealled on the Scrap Pelzier blog last Sunday with a Kaisercraft layout.
This layout was created with Kaisercraft Chasing Rainbows. I used a
Crafters Workshop Stencil – Dots and Dashes with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in
Navy to create texture on the white cardstock background. The I went to my
6.5x6.5 paper pad and tore out some papers to layer under my photo. I added
some border diecuts from the paper pad, as well as some diecuts from the
Collectibles pack. To finish the layout I added some Kaisercraft wood veneer
Stars, Doily, and Banners. The title was created with some really, really,
really old Basic Grey alphas.
Wanna see some closeups?
