Creative Inspiration Saturday Allsorts Challenge and Reveal

It is Saturday Allsorts day at Creative Inspiration.

I have chosen a colour inspiration board off Pinterest for us to use as a base for a tag today.

Look at all those luscious colours - pink, teal, orange and pale blue.

I would love for you to make a tag using these colours.

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal

Hello All

Appears I am behind with my reveal for Sunny Day Crafting :( - actually a whole week behind!! Where does that time go?

The challenge this week was Fun Folds, and this is what I came up with:

I trolled through Pinterest until I saw a card I liked, then I went to Youtube to find instructions. For some reason my measurements were out, but I got there in the end.

Creative Inspirations January Mini Crop

Its mini crop time at Creative Inspirations and you have until the 29 January to play along.

Again, this year, my theme for the mini crop was 'A Year in Review", but this year I did something a bit different

Last year my Year in Review project was a layout.  This year I wanted to do something different. So, I spent some time on Youtube and found this amazing tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-yymOqQJ0U.  I was hooked, and knew that this is what I wanted to create for my mini crop project.

It took me just a day to create, so not at all time consuming.

The hardest part was photographing it, lol.

The instructions give 8 double pages,and 7 pockets.  The size of the album was problematic for the number of photos I wished to use. So I used washi tape to stick together a number of photos and then stuck them into the album.  Due to the size and space available, embellishing was minimalistic, lol, jut a few stickers here and there.  The tags contain all the journalling for 2016.

We’re bacckkkkkkkkkkk!!!! 

Hello everyone and welcome BACK to Colorful Creations!  Some of you may remember us from the days of old and many of you may not.  Colorful Creations was original formed in 2008 on the Ning Forum.  We enjoyed a successful run but closed our doors in 2011 due to hectic schedules and life changes.  Well guess what, we are back and we are looking for a few talented and creative scrappers/crafters to be on our design team.

Colorful Creations will consist of a variety of challenges ranging from sketches to layouts, from mixed media to off the page, from color combos to mood boards and whole lot more! There will be something for everyone! 

So if you are a Jack of all trade and a master of none, then this is the team for you!  LOL.  Our terms will run for 3 months with the initial term beginning February 1, 20176 to May 1, 2017 and could very well be extended after that time. The design team would be asked to complete 2 projects per month.  You must be a flexible crafter as our projects will have a wide range.  You will also be asked to comment entries each week.  I am only looking for dedicated members.

Why apply for our team? 

• To be inspired and to inspire others 
• To be on the ground floor of an up and coming blog 
• You will be a part of an amazing group of women and develop lifelong friendships with women from all over the world. 
• Your work will be featured on Facebook and Pinterest. 

What is expected of our Design Team? 

• You MUST be a follower of our blog
• Complete 2 projects a month (you will be given challenges at least a month in advance). 
• Comment on participants entries (THIS IS A MUST!).  Any team member not adhering to this rule will be promptly removed from the team so please make sure you can do this before applying. 
• Commit to a 3 month term (Beginning  February 1, 2017 thru May 1, 2017 
• Keep an active blog that is updated frequently 
• Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the Colorful Creations blog.

How to apply:

• FIRST become a new follower of this blog
• Leave a comment below indicating you would like to apply 
• Add our link and DT call to your blog
• Email 3 samples of your work that best represents your style to ourcolorfulcreations@gmail.com with DT call in the subject line
• Provide links to your blog and any online galleries. 
• Place our DT call on your blog to help get the word out.
• You MUST have a Facebook account as we will have a private DT group on Facebook

No previous DT experience needed to apply.  Call will be open until January 15th. The first challenge will go live February 1st!  This is an open call, when means that the call can be closed at any time we feel all slots have been filled.

My Time to Craft Reveal

Good Morning Scrappy Friends

It is reveal day at My time to Craft -  a fortnightly challenge blog.

Todays challenge was "Something New", and boy did the DT interpret this in different ways :)

My interpretation was scrappy stash - specifically a Personal Planner from Kaisercraft that I bought, amongst a lot of other goodies,  with some vouchers from my LSS that I received for Christmas - thank you my darling boys xx

It is navy blue with gold foil accents - and I just love it.  Reasonably priced as well!!

So, for the challenge I 'decorated' the first week of January pages.

It was quite easy to do, knowing when to stop was the difficult decision, lol.

Sketches in Thyme Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

I have been missing in action due to knee surgery, but shall be catching back up now.

The Sketches in Thyme Sketch #255 was revealed on 22 Dec

and my example:



I used traditional Christmas colours in a non-Christmas layout.  These are some really old Basic Grey papers I found in my paper box and they went perfectly with the uniforms the Donkeys wore for this game in the Australian School Basketball Championships (they finished 7th, not too bad an effort really).  The photo I used is a little bit dark so I apologise for that - I need to work on my photo editing skills as it looked better than that on the screen prior to printing.

Creative Inspiration Mini Crop

Hello Scrappy Friends

It is Mini Crop time at Creative Inspiration, and my challenge to you is to use those traditional Christmas colours, eg red, green, gold, and create a non Christmas project

I have scrapped a photo taken at the recent Australian Schools Basketball Championships where my youngest sons College team won the right to represent Tasmania.  Because of a uniform clash for the second game of the tournament, our boys had to wear an alternate strip which just happened to be white, green and red - lucky me I say

Sketches in Thyme Sketch #250

Its reveal day at Sketches in Thyme for the new sketch this week.

Designed by the fabulously talented Shawn Lhar....

 I turned the sketch onto its side to accommodate the portrait photos I had.  I used some gorgeous Prima papers, Funky Flairs and some Kaisercraft Collectables from different ranges.

The prize for November is this beautiful Swan Lake paper pack. You have until November 30, 2016 to add your blog or Instagram link to be eligible for the prize.

Creative Inspiration Wednseday Stash Challenge

I have just finished cleaning and reorganising my scrap desk and space and now am totally in the mood to scrap.  

Today, my stash challenge to you all is to use each of the following.

2 x different types of alphas

2 x colours of paints or mists

2 x wooden embellishments

5 x buttons

5 x pieces of tape or ribbon

You can use any other embellishments in any quantity but you must use the above.

Creative Inspiration Thursday Scraplift Challenge

It is Thursday, and we all know that means Scraplift Challenge day over at Creative Inspiration.

Have you been over and joined the best lil forum going round?  Lots of friendly faces, great daily, and monthly challenges, always someone there to chat to.  Get on over, you wont know what you have been missing.

Now for my challenge.

I came across this layout by Joan, which I absolutely loved as it was me to a tee.  Layers and distressing, so, of course, I just had to scraplift it:

I have to admit to being slightly disappointed with the black gessoed tyre track stencil effort, it went rather blotchy in patches as the gesso seeped under the stencil.  Oh well, learnt from that.
