Scrap Plezier Reveal

Hello SCrappy Friends

Wow, late again with my reveals this month.  I must slap myself and get my act into gear  - big time.

August 20 was reveal day at Scrap Plezier with a Kaisercraft layout.

Dont you just love my cute as a button Murphy?

I wanted to get away from using the normal squares, rectangles and circles, so decided to use triangles for this layout – and I love how it turned out.  Using Kaisercraft Indigo Skies, I cut 2 triangles from 2 pieces of patterned paper.  I then drew a border around the edge using my black Sharpie paint pen.  I took a piece of Kaisercraft paper from the Base Coat IV collection and using some Ranger Distress Ink and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine, I smooched and splattered the watered down media onto the background.  I did not gesso the paper prior to doing this, and fortunately it didn’t warp at all.  I distressed the edges of the background paper and both triangles using my Edge Distressing tool and then inked the distressed edges with the Distress Ink (Blueprint Sketch).  When the background was dry, I placed the triangles, and offset them to each other.  I added my photo and took some stickers and diecuts from the Indigo Skies collection to finish off the layout.

The title alphas were a pack of really old Cosmo Cricket Chalkboard which I painted with the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine (Tinsel), and I love, love, love how they turned out.

So that is my challenge to all my scrappy friends, take some old stash and reinvigorate it to make something new!!

Scrap Plezier Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends,

It was my reveal day on the Scrap Plezier blog on Sunday, but I have been sick so havent had a chance to share with you all until now :(

During a tidy up I came across this photo of my husband and eldest son.  My son was 15 weeks old in the photo, and turns 21 in October, so you can see I do not scrapbook chronologically!!  I took some Kaisercraft Mist in Olive and Lime Green and mixed some together to create a colour I liked, and was more matched to the papers, with a Kaisercraft stencil on the white cardstock background.   When dry, I splattered some of the mixture. I then took some papers from the 6.5x6.5 Bow and Arrow collection paper pad and layered over the stencilled background.  I mounted the photo onto another piece from the collection.  I finished off this rather simple layout with some wood veneer, pearls, and  diecuts all from Kaisercraft.  I drew a border around the outside edge of the cardstock to ground all the elements.

I hope my layout inspires you all to pull our some old photos and scrap them

So what do you think about that?
