Sketches in Thyme sketch #210

I'm up on the Sketches in Thyme blog today with my interpretation of sketch #210

This sketch was designed by the fabulously talented Sara Mishler

and here is my example:

I loved using the Kaisercraft varnish paper which I coloured with Distress Crayons.  I also loved the sketch which really suits my simplified style of scrapping

Remaining Turtle Soup Birthday Bash Challenges

You still have till the end of the month to get your entries in at Turtle Soup for the Birthday Bash Challenges.

Here are a few more to whet your appetite:

Day 16 - Joans challenge

My daughter-in-law gave me this cute photo strip from a party they had gone to that had a photo booth set up (how fun!). She wanted to know if I could use it for Vincent's scrapbook album ... why yes I can. Especially since I have the Cricut Photo Booth Props cartridge. My challenge for you is to create a layout, card, tag, ATC or altered project and use circles on it. You have till the end of the month to play along. Be sure to post your project in the gallery and link it back here for us to see.

Day 17 - Bev
Here is today's Birthday Bash Sunday Sketch...

Create a Birthday Card or any celebration card to share with us.
Here is my sample using the sketch

Day 18 - Chris
Hi Today I am sharing my take on today's sketch

and here is my take on this sketch

Day 19 - Linda
We all like to receive birthday gifts and what better way to say thank you than a handmade card. My challenge to you is to use a tag and ribbon on your creation.

Day 20 - Tania
My challenge to you is to create a card using some Birthday themed Embellies or papers from your stash.....

Day 21 - Phillis
What do you do with the program or ticket from a Concert or awards ceremony that you have attended? Keep it or throw it out once you get home. I tend to save it all. I used the schedule from my dd volleyball tournament for part of my background on my LO.

My challenge to use is to use part of the program, entry ticket, etc on your LO, card etc.

And finally Day 22 - Stacey
This is your last challenge of the birthday bash. My favorite way of organizing things around my scrapbook area is by using my favorite man Roy G. Biv. In case you don't know what that stands for. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Here is my example. This is from the gender reveal a few weeks. We just found out what the sex of grandbaby #2 will be!!! Big sister is super excited. And if you notice daddy in the background getting ready. He was really excited about blowing up a target to see to reveal the gender.

BTW: Here's the actual reveal! We did this at our house to ensure that it wouldn't scare/hurt anyone since I only have 1 neighbor and plenty of open space.

So my challenge to you is make a project using all of Roy G Biv and a little bling (we all love bling)

Go forth and scrap my friends

Day 15 of the Turtle Soup Birthday Bash

Hello Scrappers,

Day 15 has arrived at Turtle Soup in the midst of the 3rd Birthday Bash, and its my turn to challenge you all :)

My challenge to you is to use some wrapping paper and a card on your celebration layout.

This is a layout of DS2's 6th birthday and due to his colourful PJ's, the wrapping paper from his morning gift was perfect. I also used a birthday card, and cut out the title from a plastic banner. I tried to tone down the brightness with a strip of crepe paper.

I am sure you can all complete this challenge smile

Thanks for playing along with us thus far and rest assured there are many more fabulous challenges on the way

More Birthday Bash Inspiration

Day 6 challenge was designed by the fabulously talented Louise B:

My challenge is to create a baby card or layout without using pink or blue. I made two cards- one using coral/peach and the other mint green.

Day 7:
Colleen came up with this great challenge:

It is time to start thinking about getting some of my Christmas cards made so this is a perfect challenge to help you get started as well. So let me see some Christmas cards.

Day 8 was designed by Karen:

Good Morning,
Day 8 challenge deals with a Quilt Inspired Card using your scraps
To make mine these are the measurements I used for an A2 card
4 -- 1 1/4 square (patterned colored paper)
1 -- 2 5/8 suare (polka dot paper). On this sheet you have to cut 4 lines on each side at the center
Slip the 1 1/4 square going the same way
Put something in the center -- I used bling
Band near the bottom to put your Greeting 4 X 5 1/4
I added extra pink as backing for the patern & backed greeting & added more bling
All this was done using scraps
Here it is:

Birthday Bash Time at Turtle Soup

Happy Saturday Scrappy Followers,

Many apologies for being missing ion action the past month but I have had computer issues, then went on annual leave overseas, and got sick when I got home.  Everything is back on track now so I should be much more active :)

Over at the best little forum on the net, Turtle Soup, it is our 3rd birthday, and we have a month long Birthday Bash complete with daily challenges to get your mojo a-flowing :)

All you need to do is head over to the forum, register if you are not already a member, and play along with us.

There will be heaps of challenges and games, with some awesome sponsors on board to provide plenty of prizes.

Our theme this month is Celebrations - all types.

The July 1 challenge was set by Lisa M, and she challenges you to create a project with a wedding theme.  She created this amazing layout of her husband, Greg, and herself on her wedding day.  Look at that amazing stitching - I am so envious

July 2 challenge is set by new DT member, Charity, and she had challenged us to create some ATC's

Two sensational challenges there.  Why not give them a go

Thanks for stopping by

Happy scrapping
