My Time to Craft Reveal

Good Morning Scrappy Friends

It is reveal day at My time to Craft -  a fortnightly challenge blog.

Todays challenge was "Something New", and boy did the DT interpret this in different ways :)

My interpretation was scrappy stash - specifically a Personal Planner from Kaisercraft that I bought, amongst a lot of other goodies,  with some vouchers from my LSS that I received for Christmas - thank you my darling boys xx
Planner - Sml Navy with Rose Gold Foil Accent
It is navy blue with gold foil accents - and I just love it.  Reasonably priced as well!!

So, for the challenge I 'decorated' the first week of January pages.

And some close ups:

It was quite easy to do, knowing when to stop was the difficult decision, lol.

Thanks for dropping by here, hope you get a chance to play along at My time to Craft - see you there real soon

Sketches in Thyme Reveal

Hello Scrappy Friends

I have been missing in action due to knee surgery, but shall be catching back up now.

The Sketches in Thyme Sketch #255 was revealed on 22 Dec

and my example:

I used traditional Christmas colours in a non-Christmas layout.  These are some really old Basic Grey papers I found in my paper box and they went perfectly with the uniforms the Donkeys wore for this game in the Australian School Basketball Championships (they finished 7th, not too bad an effort really).  The photo I used is a little bit dark so I apologise for that - I need to work on my photo editing skills as it looked better than that on the screen prior to printing.

Why not head on over to Sketches in Thyme where there is a new sketch each week and a prie at the end of each month for one contributor.

See you there real soon

Creative Inspiration Mini Crop

Hello Scrappy Friends

It is Mini Crop time at Creative Inspiration, and my challenge to you is to use those traditional Christmas colours, eg red, green, gold, and create a non Christmas project

I have scrapped a photo taken at the recent Australian Schools Basketball Championships where my youngest sons College team won the right to represent Tasmania.  Because of a uniform clash for the second game of the tournament, our boys had to wear an alternate strip which just happened to be white, green and red - lucky me I say

You have until the 25th to join in the fabulous challenges the DT have set for the mini crop.

Head on over, you know you want to :)

Creative Inspiration Thursday Scraplift Challenge

Good Morning Friends

It is Thursday, and we all know that means Scraplift Challenge day over at Creative Inspiration.

Have you been over and joined the best lil forum going round?  Lots of friendly faces, great daily, and monthly challenges, always someone there to chat to.  Get on over, you wont know what you have been missing.

Now for my challenge.

I came across this layout by Joan, which I absolutely loved as it was me to a tee.  Layers and distressing, so, of course, I just had to scraplift it:

Image

Dont you just love it?

Trust you love mine as well :)
Nov 3 Scraplift.jpg

I have to admit to being slightly disappointed with the black gessoed tyre track stencil effort, it went rather blotchy in patches as the gesso seeped under the stencil.  Oh well, learnt from that.

Well thats it from me for a bit, so head on over to Creative Inspiration and join up and participate.  Would love to see what you come up with

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal

Hello there bloggy friends,

It is Tuesday so that can only mean one thing - Always Anything Goes Challenge Reveal at Sunny Day Crafting.

Today I have reverted back to my 12x12 scrapping and have created a layout of youngest son on his last day at high school

I have used my stash for this one - some older MME Kraft fun day papers and die cut strips, as well as some flairs and bits and pieces, and one of my most fave quotes as the journalling.

Thanks for stopping by.

Catch you real soon

Good morning and happy Tuesday bloggers, and you guessed it, it is reveal day at Sunny Day Crafting for the Always Anything Goes Challenge.

A 12 x 12 layout of youngest son playing the sport he loves best - basketball.  Unfortunately they lost this preliminary final by 3 points.  Fingers crossed this year, they can go at least one better :)

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal Day

Happy Tuesday bloggers, and you know what that means - reveal day in the Always Anything Goes Challenge at Sunny Day Crafting.

I have ventured away from my great nephew this week and created a 12 x 12 layout on my dearly departed daddy.  This layout is based on a layout sourced from Helen Allen on YouTube

I loved the the mix of washi tape and paper strips for the background, and the addition of my choice of the pop of colour (blue) in the neutral colour palette.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today.  So why not head on over to Sunny Day Crafting, check out the inspiration from the other DT gals, and link up a project?

Sketches in Thyme #220

Good day to all my scrappy followers,

I am (or at least will be shortly) up on the Sketches in Thyme blog with sketch #220 reveal

I have used papers from Kaisercraft, as well as the diecut sticker strips, and word strips, and the alphas as well.

These pictures were from a hugely fun day we had in Bali recently - quad bike riding (hubby drove, not me) and canyon tubing - which was the most fun ever, and included a flying fox section which also was awesome fun.

So, my dear friends, head on over to Sketches in Thyme and partake of the sketch, link up
your efforts and be in witch a chance to win a prize pack.

Till next time

Creative Inspiration Wednesday Stash Challenge

It Wednesday, which means Stash Challenge day at Creative Inspiration.

So, if you haven't done so already, head on over and apply to be a member of the forum so you can join in on all the magnificent challenges that you will find there.

For todays stash challenge, I would like you to use the letters from your hometown, and match those letters with the following stash items to create your project, whether it be a layout, card, tag, ATC, project life page, etc.
A= Acrylic Paint    B = Button/s    C = Cork    D = Date Stamp    E = Enamel Dot/s   F = Fabric
G = Gesso    H = Hexagon      I = Inked edges    J = Journalling spot    K = Key    L = Label
M =Metal    N = Neutral Background    O = One photo    P = Polka dots Q = Quote                            R = Rhinestone/s    S = Stitching    T = Tag    U = Upside down    V = Veneer   X = Xacto (fussy cut)Y = Yarn      Z= Zig zags (chevron)

So, my home town is Devonport, so my layout incorporates:  Date stamp, Enamel dots, Veneer, One photo, Neutral background, Polka dots, Rhinestones and a Tag.  If you have a letter double up like I do, you only need to use that stash item once, unless you wish to use it more than once (eg, 2 x O = you could use 2 photo's)

So, what do you think?  Like my challenge?  If so, cant wait to see what you come up with.

Please join me at Creative Inspiration

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal

Hello there fellow scrappers,

My second reveal is up at Sunny Day Crafting.  As always it is an anything goes challenge.

Again, I have used a picture of my great nephew and have scrapped the page 8.5 x 8.5.  I am so loving this size, but need some smaller size photos so I can scrap more than one at a time on a layout.

Last week, we had 96 link ups - wow - my challenge to you all is to see if we can make it to 100 this week.

You have until midnight next Monday 19th to link up your projects.

Go on, I know you want to :)

See you soon

Sunny Day Crafting Reveal

Hello there Loverlies,

My first reveal for Sunny Day Crafting is up :)

I have a mountain of photos of my great nephew as yet unscrapped so I am dedicating some time and effort into scrapping these.

I am going with a 8.5" x 8.5" format, in the hope of getting them done.

As I don't scrap chronologically, these will be in no particular order :)

So...my first reveal for Sunny Day Crafting Anything Goes challenge:

I have used buttons and epoxy dots, twine, washi tape, embossing, and some ink splatters.

Have a project to link up for Sunny Day Crafting, head over to the blog and link it up :)

Thanks for popping in.

Sept 1 Thursday Scraplift Challenge

Its Thursday Scraplift Challenge at Turtle Soup and at our new home at Creative Inspiration.

The forum is closing at Turtle Soup and Bev has worked extremely hard to find a new home for us to continue to chat, and inspire.

Our new home is called Creative Inspiration and it flows along the very same way that Turtle Soup does.  There is a week changeover period where all challenges, etc will appear on both boards before the switch to Creative Inspration is permanent.  You will need to apply for an account before you can enter the forum.  So why not head over and get applying.  Looking forward to seeing you all there :)

I have chosen this simply sensational layout from TurtleGirl from way back in 2006.  I loved the single photo in the middle of the page, and the background accent.
Sep%201%20Scraplift%20TurtleGirl_zps0ete

I have given my layout a modern twist by using mixed media on the background.  I have used the June Mixed Media Kit from Shop and Crop Scrapbooking

Now it is your turn :)

Its Back to School Mini Crop time at Turtle Soup

Its that time of the month when the DT at Turtle Soup come up with some awesome mini crop challenges.  This month the theme is Back to School, and I am your new Geography teacher :)

My challenge to you all is to produce a layout, card, ATC, journal page, pocket page, etc, etc, incorporating a photo taken of scenery on holiday.  The more exotic the better.  If you dont have any scenery happy snaps, feel free to find one on the internet and scrap that.

My photo is of the sunset at Jimbaran Beach in Bali.  It is not the very best quality photo, but I have scrapped it anyway.

Other challenges on offer thus far are:

Karen's Math assignment, incorporating numbers
Image

Phillis' Library challenge where you have to use a book page
Image

Linda is your History teacher, and she would like you to scrap those heritage photos
Ron's Graduation

Toni is the English ma'am, and her challenge is to use a quote on your project

So, there is tempting start to our mini crop
