Colour Combo's Galore

I have re-visited Colour Combos Galore this evening, and cant wait to participate more in the fabulous colour challenges available.

So, without further ado, here is the colour challenge #144 and my layout using this combo :)

I have used some of the BG Basocs papers, trims and alphas, as well as some Bo Bunny and Nikki Sivils pp's, and 1 WRMK layered chipboard tag. Unfortunately you cannot see the Glimmermist in Tattered Rose and Sea Glass that adorns the cream paper.

Anyway, it is all good.

Looking for a challenge, head on over and check it out.

Till next time,
happy scrapping

Scrapbook Challenges Blind Scrapping layout

The idea was to use your stash, and use it I did. I pulled out some really, really old Imagination Project, City Center Designs pp, and added lots of old metal embellishments I found in the back of my scrap cupboard. I even managed to remember how to work the Fastenator and used that as well.

It really was a great Cyber party and I am sure if you were over at Scrapbook Challenges during the weekend, you would have had a ball, and if you managed to complete some of the challenges you are in the running for a couple of prizes. How good is that??

If you werent able to particiapte, then make sure you keep your eye out for the next round.

Cheers

Scrapbook Challenges

Use your Stash! cyber party is in full swing.

Ilene's challenges are:

1. to dig out those eyelets. You know, those little round things from way back when. I remember I even had a little hammer for those (before upgrading to my awesome Crop-a-Dile). Those little eyelets used to be so cool, one would see them on all the LO's. And where have they gone now? You know, I still have a million, some in all the colors of the rainbow and then some. But just because they're old and out of style doesn't mean they can't be made to look awesome! So I challenge you to make a LO/project/mini/altered item - anything! - using at LEAST 10 eyelets. Here's my example and the RAK I put together that you can win for participating. RAK contents: A pack of Maya Road ribbon, a pack of MR fibers, MR sheer houses keychain, a Heidi Swapp sheet of arrow stickers, Making Memories Vintage Findings: mini kit, blossoms, and vellum envelopes

2. Remember waaaaay back when, when those cute Prima Got Flowers bottles came out? They were the greatest thing since sliced bread and no could get enough of them. I know I couldn't. I loaded up and well...I still have that load :) Well ladies, time to unload! I challenge you to make a layout/altered item/project/mini/anything you want using those little Prima flowers.Don't have any of those left? (You lucky you). You can still play along - use any old flowers/buttons/little embellies along those lines you have laying around. Again, I want to see At LEAST 10!The RAK for participating on this challenge is Maya Road stamps (jasmine blossoms) and Maya Road rubons (9 sheets).

And Debi:

1. We all have stuff in our stash that we just 'had to have' only to have it sit there and not be used. We mean to use them, but they are just sitting there being passed over in favor of the new HOT thing. For this challenge I want you to dig THREE of those items out of your stash now and use them on a layout! The prize for this challenge will be given by random draw -- to get an extra entry in the drawing, use a technique on your layout that takes you out of your comfort zone!

2. For this challenge I want you to dig into your sticker stash and use them on a layout. Now, I'm thinking about those flat stickers that we don't like to admit we have in our stash -- you know the ones....those old Mrs. Grossman's style stickers that we've been holding onto for goodness knows what reason! Well, it's finally time to do something with them! Find a creative, unique way to use them on your page...Make a border with them....Decorate a tag.... use them en masse to fill in a doodled or hand drawn shape...Cover a piece of paper with them and cut it into a shape with your punches....Or just put them on your page as is....Just USE them! :)Now, if you don't have any Mrs. Grossman style stickers ANY flat stickers will work for this challenge. If you don't have any flat stickers but are one of those who is hoarding the 3-D style stickers then use THOSE! Alpha stickers work, too! :D

So, what do you think?? You have until Wednesday 12 midnight to upload your creations

Please come on over and have a play

Scrapbook Challenges Use Your Stash! Cyber Party

The Use Your Stash! Cyber party is in full swing at Scrapbook Challenges.

Why not head on over and check out what Debi, Ilene and I have come up with to help you use your stash!! You could even win some goodies along the way.

My first challenge is to use that chipboard you have stored away. I want you to alter it anyway you see fit and use it on a layout.

My second challenge is a Blind Scrapping challenge, and you have to use 3 patterned papers that you have had in your stash forever, along with those really old embellishments.

Here is the requirements list and the instructions:

1 x 12x12 cardstock or base of your choice
1 x 4x8 piece co ordinating cardstock or patterned paper for journalling on
3 x patterned papers - the ones you have been saving for good - lets use them now. These must not be recent releases
1 x 5x7 landscape orientation photo
9 x buttons, or brads, or eyelets, or any other really old embellishment
Really old embellishments to form 3 x 2 inch cluster each
Approx 16 inches ribbon
2 different fonts and colours of really, really old alpha stickers - I know you have them :)
small alpha/number stickers for date
1 pack Pearls or other such bling
Journalling pen
Staples and Stapler - drag out the Fastenator, how long since you have used it??
Standard scrapping tools

Instructions:
Take patterned paper (PP) 1 and cut to 10x10inch. Adhere in centre of background page.
Cut PP2 7x5inch and place it vertically on top of PP1 about 3/4inch in from left side
Cut PP3 1.5x30inch. Place horizontally so it overlaps the other 2 PP's
Adhere photo so it overlaps all 3 PP's
Take the piece of co ordinating cardstock of PP (whichever you chose to journal on) and cut 4 photo corners from it and adhere to each corner of photo.
Take ribbon and staple to layout along the bottom of the photo. You can gather it, or tie knots in it, whatever you decide to do is ok.
Cut a journalling shape of choice, about 3x1inch,, from journalling cardstock/PP, and adhere just under PP3 on the right hand side level with the edge of the base cardstock. It should look like it is coming out from under the PP3
Use this journalling spot for the date - either use the small stickers or hand write if you dont have them
Take your embellishments and place 1 to the right of the photo on top of PP3 above the ribbon, the second at the top of PP1 about 3/4-1inch in from the right hand side, and the third under PP1 approx 3 1/2inch from left hand side.
Cut 1/2 inch wide journalling strips from scraps for journalling and adhere on top of PP1 and PP 2 above the photo.
Thread buttons or take brads, etc and place in groups of 3. Place a cluster both sides of journalling strips and a cluster at the bottom of the page next to your embellishment
If it matches, place pearls on top of embellishments.
Take 5 Pearls or the like and cluster approx 1/2inch from the top left hand corner of the photo. Place anther cluster of 5 to the right of the photo on PP1 and the last cluster of 5 approx 1inch from the bottom left of photo on PP3
Use large alphas to make a title and place on layout as suited.

Make it your own with doodling, etc.

I do hope I havent confused anyone too much.

Cant wait to see your layouts but they must not be posted until after 6pm your time on Wednesday 27th January. That way they will be truly Blind :)

Holler if you need anything

Happy stash scrapping
