Sketches in Thyme

Have you seen the awesome job the Mavens have done with the Smash up sketches at Sketches in Thyme.  This particular team use the 4 sketches during the month and combine bits or a lot from all or some of them to create a masterpiece to call their own.

Brilliant idea, sensationally executed.  Great work fellow Mavens - I am in awe,

These are Novembers 4 sketches:
November 1-7 Sketch #171November 8-14 Sketch #172November 15-21 Sketch#173November 22-28 Sketch #174

Maven Sara took the background from Sketch #174, layered the photos and layers and tags from Sketch #172 and used the title placement from Sketch #173.
Maven Sandy used sketches 171 and 174. She used more than one photo and tags from sketch 172 and multi paper strips in the middle and some ink drops from sketch 174.
Maven Sammy used sketches 172 and 174 for background inspiration in the fresh and fun layout!
Maven Carolyn chose to stick closely to sketch 172 to create this colorful and fun Jumping Monkeys layout.
Next, Maven Jules used circles from 171 and banners from 173 to create this Chillin layout. It is such soft sweet colors and so dainty for that lovely little doll!
Maven Sharon used sketch 172 as it spoke to her when she thought about scrapping this layout about her grandson and his mother, stunning!
Finally, Maven Susan chose to create a two page layout using bits and pieces from each sketch featured this month. Fabulous way to allow sketches to inspire your happy scrapping!
I told you they were sensational!!
Head on over and try them out - you know you want to

My first reveal at Sketches in Thyme :)

Woohoo, it is almost time for my first DT reveal at Sketches in Thyme.

This is the sketch I had to work with:

and here is my layout:

I used some of my favourite Maja Designs papers, with lots of covered chipboard and ink splatters.

The photo is not the best as I took it off a video of Sam clearing 1.93m at the high jump at the Oceania Area Athletics Championships in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, June 2014, whilst representing Regional Australia in the U20 boys Octathlon.  This jump qualified him to represent Tassie at the 2015 Australian Junior and Age Championships which were in Sydney in March this year.  He finished 4th in the Octathlon - a mere 40 points off a bronze medal.  An awesome effort

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you head on over to Sketches in Thyme and enter the challenges, which run all month.

Final SBT50 CC Challenge

Ant's The Price is Right challenge

As a kid I used to love the show The Price Is Right......I even remember my Mum and her friend going.....but they didn't get chosen to play.

So, The Price is Right! Have you ever seen how it is played? Basically there are a set of mini games where the contestants have to guess the price of items. In the final game, if they get all the prices correct, they win the prize.

So... i can hear you thinking how in the world are we going to do this... well we are going to play some mini games of course!! Smile We will have 3 mini games being played. Each game will give you an item to collect and then at the completion of the mini games you will be told what to do with each of these items! Smile

Here are the Mini Games

Mini Game 1 - Find a word
One word from the list can not be found in this find a word. That word is your 'price' for this mini game!

Word List:
Embellishments
Patterned
Paper
Cardstock
Twine
Washi
Tape
Buttons
Ribbon
Brads
Eyelets
Paint
Glimmermist
Masks
Chipboard
Handmade

Mini Game 2 - Solve the clues to discover the next price!
My first is in staples but not in apples
My second is in washi but not in mashing
My third is in mist but not in most
My fourth is in ink but not in stick
My fifth is in paper but not in scrapping

What am I?

Mini Game 3 - Crossword
Answer all the clues to the scrapping related questions. When you are done, the highlighted letters can be rearranged to spell the next 'price'!

OK - so you have completed the mini games!?

If so you should have three answers - those three items should be scrapbooking products that are commonly used on scrapbooking pages. If you are unsure of your answers, please do not hesitate to contact either Vicki, Sarah or myself to confirm.

Now you are on the the final game (challenge).

Final Game

You must now create a LO with those three products BUT those three products must be altered in some way. Yep....sounds tricky, but it can be done.

Here is my sample:

I hope you have had fun playing our games and I hope you have fun creating your LOs.

The winner of this challenge will receive a great prize from

More SBT50 Cyber Crop Challenges

Vicki's Catch Phrase Challenge!

This is a nice easy challenge to get you in the game show mood. You need to select ONE of the following 6 popular game show catch phrases, and scrap a layout using the corresponding criteria (listed below the phrase)!

1. "Come on down!" - The price is right -
Use vertical movement on your page or an upside down element

2. "I'd like to buy a vowel" - Wheel of fortune
Your layout must have a single word title with only one vowel in it

3. "I'd like to phone a friend"- Who wants to be a millionaire
Your layout must include a photo of 2 or more "friends"

4. Is that your final answer?- Who wants to be a millionaire
Your layout must a include a title in a question form. Eg She is stylish?

5 . "No Deal!" -Deal or no Deal
Your title cannot include any of the letter in the words "NO DEAL"

6. You are the weakest link! Goodbye!- The weakest link
You must include a item on your layout that has a chain or links in it. Or a matching pair of embellishments

Here is my example - i have used a picture of 2 'friends', my best friend, my hubby, and myself! Smile

All entries must be loaded to the correct gallery by midnight Sunday the 28th of April.

The winner of this challenge will receive some awesome goodies from Charm at Charm's Creations

Vicki's Deal or No Deal challenge

My challenge for you all this crop is 'Deal or NO Deal'!! Sounds like fun doesn't it! Smile
This one works much like Sarah's Wheel of fortune, in that you get to pick your own criteria! Smile You need to select 3 cases, numbered from 1 to 26, and write them in a post here. You will then be pm'd with your criteria. This is where the fun begins, once you have been pm'd your chosen criteria, you can either go ahead and create your layout, or if you don't like the criteria, you can say 'NO DEAL' and we will use random.org to select a new criteria for you! Smile The catch is though, that you must then use the criteria you have been given! Will you Deal or No Deal!!??

Here is my example layout, i used random.org to get my criteria (but i'm not telling you what i got, or you might try cheat!Razz )

Entries for this challenge must be uploaded into the correct folder in the gallery before Midnight (SA time) Sunday April 28th

The winner of this challenge will get some yummy goodies from Burdy's Handmade Embellies

Ok, so get about these challenges - I am

Deb ♥
